Mayors of As-Samu’ and Al-Dhahiriya Municipalities Inspect Ash-Shuweika – Deir Shams Area Following Settler Attacks

The Mayor of As-Samu’ Municipality, Mr. Khalil Abu Awwad, and the Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya Municipality, Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaiseh, accompanied by Civil Coordination Officer Mr. Alaa Qatouf and Fatah Secretary in As-Samu’, Haroun Abu Karsh, conducted a field visit to the Deir Shams area east of Al-Dhahiriya to assess the damage caused to residents and their property as a result of settler attacks.

 

The visit included inspecting the homes of residents Raed, Issa, Rajeh, and Mohammed Abu Tabeikh, which were subjected to attacks and sustained material damage. The delegation also inspected the theft and looting of more than 250 livestock during the early morning hours, in an attack that targeted residents’ property and livelihoods.

 

The delegation also visited the quarry belonging to citizen Khaled Ibrahim Al-Za’arir in the Wadi Juhaysh area and assessed the extent of the damage on site, including the burning and destruction of several vehicles and pieces of equipment.

 

The mayors of As-Samu’ and Al-Dhahiriya emphasized that the visit reflects their commitment to standing alongside affected residents, assessing their conditions and needs on the ground, and conveying their concerns and demands to the relevant authorities. They stressed the importance of providing protection for residents and their property and confronting the repeated attacks targeting citizens and their livelihoods in the eastern and southern areas.

 

They also stressed the need to intensify official and popular efforts to protect citizens and their property, follow up on the consequences of the attacks, and identify the needs of those affected, particularly amid the continued escalation of attacks targeting residents, their property, and their sources of livelihood.

 

Al-Dhahiriya Municipality reaffirmed its continued commitment to following up on the conditions of residents in the eastern and southern areas, standing by them, and coordinating with all relevant parties to strengthen their steadfastness and protect their property and livelihoods.
