Health Minister Discusses Strengthening Healthcare Services and Supporting Al-Dhahiriya Governmental Hospital with Al-Dhahiriya Municipality

Health Minister Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan met with Al-Dhahiriya Mayor Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaiseh, members of the Municipal Council, and a number of officials to discuss the healthcare situation in Al-Dhahiriya and the southern region, as well as the main needs and challenges facing the health sector and ways to improve the services provided to citizens.

 

 

The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Health and Al-Dhahiriya Municipality to respond to the growing healthcare needs of the city and surrounding areas. One of the main issues discussed was the transfer of the Emergency and Safe Childbirth Center in Al-Dhahiriya from the Primary Healthcare Administration to the Hospitals Administration at the Ministry of Health, with the aim of strengthening its role and improving the emergency and childbirth services it provides.

 

 

Al-Dhahiriya Mayor Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaiseh stressed the importance of developing healthcare services in the city, noting that this issue is a priority for the residents of Al-Dhahiriya and the southern region. He also reaffirmed the municipality’s continued coordination with the Ministry of Health, official institutions, and partners to improve the healthcare situation.

 

 

Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaiseh also praised the significant role played by the local community and philanthropists in supporting the construction of Al-Dhahiriya Governmental Hospital through financial donations and the donation of land. He emphasized that this support reflects the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility and the community’s commitment to completing this vital and strategic project.

 

 

The meeting also discussed the establishment of a dialysis unit at Al-Dhahiriya Governmental Hospital following the completion of the necessary finishing works and preparations. This unit would provide an essential healthcare service to residents of Al-Dhahiriya and surrounding areas and reduce the burden on patients who currently have to travel to other hospitals for dialysis sessions.

 

 

Health Minister Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to following up on the needs of various cities and towns and strengthening cooperation with local authorities and the community to improve the quality of healthcare services and meet citizens’ needs.

 

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of continued coordination and communication between the Ministry of Health, Al-Dhahiriya Municipality, and relevant stakeholders, as well as following up on the healthcare issues discussed, supporting efforts to complete Al-Dhahiriya Governmental Hospital, and strengthening the healthcare system in Al-Dhahiriya and the southern region.
