Al-Marj Solar Energy Project: A Major Step Toward Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development in Al-Dhahiriya
Al-Dhahiriya Municipality is continuing work on the Al-Marj Solar Energy Project, one of the municipality’s major and strategic renewable energy projects, in cooperation with the private sector, with a generation capacity of 1.5 MW.
As part of its efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships and encourage investment, the municipality signed investment partnership agreements with the private sector for the implementation and operation of the two solar plants, with a total investment of approximately $2.5 million. This represents an important step toward developing productive and sustainable projects that will benefit the city of Al-Dhahiriya and its residents, while contributing to the creation of new job opportunities and supporting the local economy.
Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya, Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, emphasized that investment in renewable energy represents an important path for strengthening the local economy and achieving sustainability. He also highlighted the municipality’s continued efforts to attract investment and development projects that serve Al-Dhahiriya and support its ongoing development.
The Al-Marj Solar Energy Project is being implemented alongside another project under the “Shamsi Palestine” (Palestine Solar) Program, which aims to establish a 1 MW solar power plant. This reflects Al-Dhahiriya Municipality’s growing focus on renewable energy and its commitment to utilizing clean energy sources to support local development and promote sustainability.
