Al-Dhahiriya Municipality Meets H.E. Minister Dr. Nasser Qatami to Discuss Support and Funding for Development Projects in the City

Al-Dhahiriya Municipality, represented by Mayor Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, Municipal Council members Aziza Rabaa and Lujain Al-Tal, Director of the Planning and Projects Department Eng. Lina Sbeih, and Public Relations Officer Suleiman Abu Allan, and in the presence of the Advisor to the Minister of Local Government, Eng. Rashid Awad, met with H.E. Minister Dr. Nasser Qatami, Chairman of the Arab and Islamic Funds Authority, at his office in Ramallah.

 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of development issues and needs concerning Al-Dhahiriya, and reviewed key projects and priorities that the Municipality seeks to implement in light of the growing need to develop infrastructure, respond to urban and population growth, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

 

The municipal delegation presented an overview of the current situation in the city and the main challenges and needs it faces. The delegation also presented a number of priority development projects and discussed opportunities to secure the necessary support and funding for their implementation, with the aim of improving services, promoting local development, and achieving a direct and sustainable impact on the lives of residents.

 

Mayor Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa emphasized the importance of maintaining communication with national institutions and supporting organizations and of mobilizing the resources and capacities needed to implement vital projects. He also commended the role of the Arab and Islamic Funds Authority in supporting development projects and strengthening the resilience of Palestinian local authorities and communities.

 

For his part, H.E. Dr. Nasser Qatami stressed the importance of supporting local authorities and strengthening their capacity to respond to citizens’ needs. He also highlighted the importance of following up on the projects and priorities presented by Al-Dhahiriya Municipality and working to support them in accordance with available resources and priorities.

 

This meeting comes as part of Al-Dhahiriya Municipality’s ongoing efforts to expand its network of cooperation and partnerships with national institutions and supporting organizations, attract funding for priority projects, implement high-impact development initiatives, improve public services, and promote sustainable development for Al-Dhahiriya and its residents.
