Al-Dhahiriya Municipality has officially launched the implementation of the Internal Roads Maintenance, Rehabilitation, and Greening Project in several neighborhoods across the city. This initiative reflects the municipality’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing public safety, upgrading the quality of municipal services, and creating a more sustainable urban environment.

The project is being implemented under the Community Recovery and Job Creation Program, which aims to strengthen the resilience of local government units, generate temporary employment opportunities, and improve the delivery of essential public services through the Labor-Intensive Infrastructure Component.

The project is funded by the World Bank, in partnership with the Palestinian Fund for Reconstruction and Development, with support from the Government of Canada and managed by the World Bank. It is implemented through the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF) in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Local Government, and the Palestinian Ministry of Labor.

The project includes the construction of concrete shoulders, pedestrian sidewalks, stone curbs, and stormwater drainage systems in several neighborhoods of Al-Dhahiriya, contributing to improved road infrastructure, enhanced traffic safety, and a better quality of life for residents.
