Engineering Department
The Department of Innovation and Organization is one of the most important departments within the Virtual Authority, forming an essential part of its organizational structure due to its pivotal regulatory and organizational tasks. It is considered the primary reference point for providing several essential services in the city, most notably water and electricity services. Furthermore, it plays a central regulatory role in ensuring urban planning accuracy, issuing necessary permits, and verifying compliance with approved engineering standards and requirements, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Department of Engineering and Organization also plays a central role in the city's planning and development by preparing engineering and regulatory frameworks that consider the needs of the population and contribute to raising the level of urban planning and infrastructure development. Within this framework, it undertakes a number of key tasks, most notably:
- Building Permits: Reviewing and processing submitted building permit applications and issuing the necessary permits to comply with health laws and regulations.
- Occupancy Permits: Reviewing and issuing occupancy permit applications according to established procedures.
- Water Subscriptions: Processing water subscription applications and granting them, along with approved technical and administrative safeguards.
- Oversight: Eliminating new construction projects, addressing violations, and ensuring compliance with approved plans and permits.
- With government agencies: Cooperating and coordinating with government courts to protect safety measures and ensure proper project implementation.
I established the Engineering and Planning Department, within its organizational structure, comprising two main sections:
- Section: Responsible for implementing building permits, issuing occupancy permits, and authorizing water connections according to approved regulations.
- Section: Inspection, responsible for monitoring and following up on infrastructure, addressing encroachments on public streets and public property, and issuing necessary permits in accordance with legal procedures.
