South Businessmen Forum Delegation Visits Adh Dhahiriya Municipality
A delegation from the South Businessmen Forum visited Adh Dhahiriya Municipality, including Mr. Yazid Lafi, Board Member and Treasurer, Mr. Nader Maqbool, Executive Director of the Forum, and several members of the General Assembly.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Yazid Lafi conveyed the congratulations of the Forum’s Chairman and Board of Directors to the Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya and the newly elected Municipal Council on their election victory. He described the elections as a democratic milestone reflecting the will of the Palestinian people and their right to choose their representatives.
Mr. Lafi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Forum and the Municipality, particularly in light of the economic challenges facing Adh Dhahiriya as a result of closures and the ongoing blockade, despite the city's relative stability.
He stressed the need for unified efforts and teamwork among all institutions to reach shared decisions that meet citizens' needs and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
He also reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to establishing a genuine and effective partnership with Adh Dhahiriya Municipality to help overcome current challenges and create new opportunities for development and investment, based on a shared national and economic responsibility.
For his part, Mayor Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit, describing it as a reflection of the spirit of cooperation and integration with the private sector.
He emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships with the South Businessmen Forum as a key supporter of the Palestinian economy.
Mayor Al-Awaisa reaffirmed the Municipality’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and work jointly to develop practical solutions to the city's economic challenges through regular meetings with the Forum and private sector representatives.
He noted that such collaboration would contribute to supporting the resilience of the local economy, promoting sustainable development in Adh Dhahiriya, and serving the Palestinian economy as a whole.
The meeting reflects the shared commitment of both parties to strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors and promoting a genuine partnership to address current challenges and build a more stable and sustainable economic future.
