The Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya, Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, signed a cooperation agreement with Action Against Hunger (ACF) in Palestine, represented by its Director Eng. Mohammad Amayreh, to implement water network projects in nine neighborhoods and residential communities within the city. The signing ceremony was attended by the staff of Al-Dhahiriya Municipality and the organization’s team.

The Mayor expressed his appreciation to ACF for their efforts and continuous communication with the municipality, affirming that Al-Dhahiriya Municipality maintains ongoing cooperation with the organization and its teams to secure projects that strengthen the resilience of citizens in the city. He highlighted the positive impact of previous water projects on the residents of Al-Dhahiriya and thanked ACF staff for their dedicated efforts.

For their part, the Director of the Municipality, Mr. Ahmad Qaisiyeh, and the Director of the Services Department, Eng. Yasmeen Al-Kaaki, discussed several potential projects that could benefit citizens in Al-Dhahiriya and the surrounding areas. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in supporting farmers and livestock breeders and underscored the significance of this project for the city.

In turn, Eng. Mohammad Amayreh, Director of ACF, affirmed the organization’s readiness to continue cooperating with Al-Dhahiriya Municipality in ways that serve the citizens. He added that joint efforts will focus on the water sector, noting that Al-Dhahiriya requires a substantial number of projects to expand network coverage across all areas of the city. This comes within the framework of easing burdens on citizens and prioritizing services for marginalized areas located far from urban centers.
