Arrangements for the opening of the northern Al-Dhahiriya gate
Under the directives of Major General Nasser Al-Bourini, the Al-Dhahiriya Municipality received the Palestinian Military Liaison in Hebron Governorate. The Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya, Eng. Ali Abbas Al-Awawsa, welcomed Brigadier General Mohammad Jawabra, Director of the Palestinian Military Liaison in Hebron Governorate, along with his delegation, in the presence of members of the Municipal Council and the Municipal Director.
During the meeting, several important issues were discussed, most notably the arrangements for reopening the northern gate of Al-Dhahiriya City, which represents a vital artery for the city, especially given that Al-Dhahiriya has been suffering from the economic blockade imposed upon it. The discussion also addressed the issue of Al-Dhahiriya Road crossing at the southern entrance of the city, which likewise requires urgent action to reopen.
The Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya emphasized that municipal teams will coordinate with the Palestinian security forces as part of the arrangements for reopening the gate next Sunday. He affirmed that any gatherings in the area will be prohibited under legal and tribal responsibility, particularly as merchants and residents in the area have incurred losses amounting to hundreds of millions due to the closure.
For his part, Brigadier General Jawabra confirmed that the Palestinian Military Liaison operates in accordance with the directives of Major General Nasser Al-Bourini, which aim to alleviate the burden on citizens and work to remove all obstacles facing them, in light of the closure policy imposed by the occupation.
