Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya Discusses Economic Challenges and Water Crisis in the City During Interview with Dream Radio

Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya, Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Shabaan, spoke during his interview with Dream Radio and Media Network on the program “Besaraha Ma’a Taleb Hawoul” about the current situation in the city of Adh Dhahiriya amid the economic blockade and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation, and the negative impact these measures have had on citizens, commercial activity, and the local economy.

 

Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Shabaan pointed out that the demolition of commercial shops located at the southern entrance of Adh Dhahiriya by the occupation authorities, in addition to preventing shoppers coming from the Negev areas from reaching the city, has caused severe commercial losses that directly affected economic and commercial activity in the city and increased the suffering of merchants and residents.

 

The Mayor confirmed that Adh Dhahiriya Municipality is continuously working to find practical solutions to ease the hardships faced by citizens and merchants. Among these solutions is the effort to provide designated parking areas for visitors coming from outside the city and preventing merchants from parking their vehicles on public streets, in order to improve traffic flow, facilitate commercial movement, and support local markets.

 

Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Shabaan also addressed the severe water crisis affecting the city, explaining the significant challenges this issue poses for both the municipality and residents, especially under the current circumstances and the increasing pressure on the water sector.

 

He further referred to the difficult financial situation facing Adh Dhahiriya Municipality as a result of the current conditions, while emphasizing the municipality’s continued commitment to fulfilling its duties and serving citizens despite all challenges and obstacles.
