Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya Praises Civil Defense Teams for Training Support Crews from the City’s Residents
Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya, Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, praised the efforts of the Civil Defense teams in training and preparing support crews from the residents of Adh Dhahiriya, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in strengthening community preparedness and ensuring rapid response to emergency situations, especially in light of the challenges facing the area.
This came during the ceremony held today in Khirbet Shuweika for distributing firefighting equipment and certificates to the Adh Dhahiriya – Shuweika Civil Defense volunteers. The event was attended by Brigadier Khalifa Al-Talahmeh, Director of Civil Defense in Hebron Governorate, the Director of Adh Dhahiriya Civil Defense, the Director of Dura Civil Defense, and Training Director Muhannad Zagharnah, alongside the Mayor of Adh Dhahiriya, Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, Deputy Mayor Amjad Al-Hawarin, municipal council members Adeeb Wreidat and Bassem Ammar, Fatah Secretary Ghassan Hawarin, as well as a large gathering of residents from Khirbet Shuweika and volunteers from Diwan Al-Shiyab in Adh Dhahiriya.
This step came as a culmination of the extensive efforts made throughout the volunteers’ training period, aiming to strengthen the readiness of volunteer teams to serve the community, protect citizens, and respond efficiently and responsibly to emergency situations, especially amid the increasing attacks by settlers in the area.
Al-Awaisa pointed out that Adh Dhahiriya Municipality maintains continuous communication and cooperation with partner institutions in a way that serves the city and its residents. He stressed the importance of this initiative in supporting marginalized areas and strengthening the resilience of citizens, particularly in areas frequently exposed to settler attacks.
