Handover Ceremony of Dhahiriya Municipality to the Newly Elected Municipal Council for 2026
In the presence of Izz Al-Din Al-Attawneh, Director of Supervision Shaddad Al-Namoura, and with the participation of both the former and newly elected municipal councils, the official handover ceremony was held on Monday at Dhahiriya Municipality. During the ceremony, Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa and the newly elected council members received their certificates of election victory and officially assumed their responsibilities as the 2026 Municipal Council.
Former Mayor Akram Abu Allan emphasized that Adh Dhahiriya, through cooperation and collective efforts, will continue its path of development and progress. He noted that Engineer Ali Al-Awaisa and the council members are dedicated أبناء of the city whose primary goal is to serve Dhahiriya and its people.
For his part, Izz Al-Din Al-Attawneh praised the efforts of the former municipal council headed by Akram Abu Allan, acknowledging the hard work and dedication demonstrated despite the difficult national circumstances and the restrictive policies imposed by the occupation. He also wished the newly elected council, led by Engineer Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa, continued success, progress, and prosperity.
In his speech, Mayor Ali Abbas Al-Awaisa expressed his gratitude and appreciation to former Mayor Akram Abu Allan for his important role in maintaining the momentum of development and construction. He affirmed that the new municipal council will work in a spirit of partnership and cooperation to overcome challenges and obstacles despite the difficult financial conditions facing the country. He also thanked the Ministry of Local Government for facilitating the municipality’s work and expressed appreciation to the municipal staff for their tremendous efforts in serving the city during the previous period.
