Al-Dhahiriya Municipality Participates in UCLG-MEWA Executive Bureau Meeting in Türkiye

Al-Dhahiriya Municipality took part in the Executive Bureau meeting of United Cities and Local Governments for the Middle East and West Asia (UCLG-MEWA), held in the city of Niğde in the Republic of Türkiye, with the participation of several municipalities and local institutions from across the region.

 

 

The municipality was represented by its Director, Ahmad Al-Qaysiya, who presented a working paper on urban innovation and entrepreneurship, addressing their social, economic, and environmental dimensions. He highlighted the vital role of local governments in fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurship to achieve sustainable urban development.

 

 

Al-Qaysiya also emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and best practices, as well as local policies and initiatives that support social, economic, and environmental innovation, contributing to city development and improving citizens’ quality of life.

 

 

During the meeting, communication was established with several Turkish municipalities to explore opportunities for cooperation and to initiate future twinning partnerships. These efforts aim to open new prospects for joint projects across various sectors, strengthen Al-Dhahiriya Municipality’s external relations, and support its development goals.

 

 

The meeting also aimed to identify key challenges and opportunities for enhancing regional cooperation and building capacities across the Middle East and West Asia.

 

 

It is worth noting that Al-Dhahiriya Municipality is an active member of this organization and regularly participates in its meetings and conferences, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships and attract development projects that serve the local community and improve public services.
