Announcement of a General Strike in Support of Our Brave Prisoners

In alignment with the decision of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement “Fatah” to declare a general strike, in solidarity with our brave prisoners, the Municipality of Al-Dhahiriya announces a comprehensive strike across all its departments on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with the exception of emergency services.

 

 

This step is taken in support of our brave prisoners and reflects a unified national stance rejecting the policies of the Israeli occupation. In particular, it denounces the approval by the Israeli Knesset of legislation allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners—an act that constitutes a crime against humanity and a blatant violation of international law and norms, and that further entrenches systematic policies of killing, discrimination, and oppression against our people.

 

The Municipality of Al-Dhahiriya also issues an urgent call to all human rights and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to revoke this legislation and to work toward protecting the rights of Palestinian prisoners and stopping the ongoing violations against them.
