Publication of the Preliminary List of Electoral Candidates in Al-Dhahiriya Municipality
The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Saturday, the publication of the preliminary lists of electoral candidates for the local authorities participating in the 2026 local elections, in order to enable citizens to review them and submit objections in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
In the City of Al-Dhahiriya, the preliminary data issued by the Central Elections Commission shows that two electoral lists have registered to compete for seats on the municipal council. These are:

Al-Ata’a wa Al-Wafaa List (Giving and Loyalty List)

Al-Sumoud wa Al-Ata’a List (Resilience and Giving List)
The Commission clarified that the preliminary list will be available for public review for three days through the Commission’s official website, as well as at its offices and the municipal council premises, allowing citizens to review the lists and candidates.
The Commission also stated that any person who has a legal objection to a candidate or an electoral list may submit it during the objection period from 7 to 9 March 2026, using the official objection forms available at the Commission. The objection must include the reasons and be supported by relevant evidence and documents.
After an objection is submitted, the concerned candidate or list will be notified within 48 hours, and they will have three days to respond. The Commission will then review the objection and issue its decision in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
The publication of the preliminary lists comes as part of the legal procedures preceding the final approval of candidate lists for the upcoming local elections.
