The Campaign Continues | A Community Mobilization from Al-Dhahiriya and Al-Samu’ to Support the Residents of Deir Shams

Al-Dhahiriya Municipality, in cooperation with Al-Samu’ Municipality and with the support of members of the local community, continues its campaign to support and stand by the residents of Khirbet Deir Shams, in a powerful demonstration of community solidarity and collective support.

 

Members of the local communities in Al-Dhahiriya and Al-Samu’ provided approximately 55 sheep to support residents affected by the ongoing attacks by the occupation and settlers. These attacks resulted in the theft of approximately 230 livestock belonging to residents of the area during the past week.

 

During a meeting between Eng. Ali Al-Awaiseh, Mayor of Al-Dhahiriya, and Mr. Khalil Abu Awad, Mayor of Al-Samu’, attended by members of both municipal councils and a number of residents of the area, the participants emphasized that community solidarity has become essential to supporting citizens and strengthening their resilience, particularly in marginalized areas threatened with confiscation and classified as Area C.

 

The meeting also discussed several practical measures, including establishing a coordination committee to protect targeted areas, providing safety and protection equipment, forming communication and rapid-response groups, coordinating urgently with the Ministry of Agriculture to protect farmers’ property and livestock, documenting livestock through photography, tagging, counting, and proof of ownership, as well as communicating with relevant institutions and authorities.

 

From Al-Dhahiriya and Al-Samu’ to Deir Shams, one message: In the face of attacks, our communities stand together, turning solidarity into a force of support and resilience.
