Al-Dhahiriya Municipality Announces Completion Procedures for Solar Energy System Occupancy Permits

Al-Dhahiriya Municipality announces to all citizens who have submitted applications to obtain occupancy permits for the installation and connection of solar energy systems that they are required to visit the municipality to complete the necessary procedures. This is to ensure the issuance of official occupancy permits in accordance with applicable regulations and to guarantee a safe and lawful connection to the electricity grid.

 

The municipality clarifies that the total available capacity for granting occupancy permits is limited to a maximum of 600 kilowatts for all applications, based on the available technical capabilities. This requires full compliance with the specified conditions and standards to ensure fairness in distributing the available capacity.

 

In this context, the municipality emphasizes the importance of fulfilling several key requirements, including that the building must be legally licensed in accordance with regulations, the site must be free from any encroachments on public road boundaries, and a written approval from the property owner must be provided if the applicant is a tenant. Any non-compliant situations must be corrected, and the allocated capacity will be determined based on actual electricity consumption.

 

Citizens are also responsible for installing solar energy systems at their own expense, in accordance with the technical specifications approved by the Southern Electricity Company, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

 

Furthermore, after obtaining the occupancy permit, citizens must coordinate with the Southern Electricity Company to secure the required technical approvals before commencing installation, in order to comply with all regulatory and technical standards.

 

These measures come as part of Al-Dhahiriya Municipality’s commitment to regulating the renewable energy sector and promoting the use of clean energy sources, contributing to sustainability and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
